Passion, jealousy and obsession In The Laureate UK Trailer

Dazzler Media have released the UK Trailer for indie drama The Laureate.

It’s a true story of sexual awakening, obsession and jealousy, based on a key period during the life of celebrated British writer, Robert Graves. We find ourselves during the mid 1920’s, a traumatised writer has returned from war and struggling. A young female poet with the blessing of his wife re-ignites that passion, leading to a potential national scandal.

The film stars Laura Haddock, Dianna Agron, Tom Hughes, Julian Glover, Derek Jacobi, Patricia Hodge, and Christien Anholt.


The Laureate is a passionate and unflinching tale of sexual awakening, obsession and jealousy, set during the life of one of the twentieth century’s most popular and influential writers.

In the mid-1920s, celebrated poet and writer Robert Graves returns from war traumatised and creatively struggling. It takes young poet Laura Riding to re-ignite Robert’s passion, and with the blessing of his wife, Nancy, his muse becomes his lover. With the three of them sharing a life, Laura’s attention soon turns to Nancy, and a complicated relationship that scandalised society threatens to risk everything they have.

With powerful and committed performances from Tom Hughes (Victoria), Dianna Agron (Glee) and Laura Haddock (Downton Abbey: A New Era), The Laureate is written and directed by William Nunez.

The Laureate will be released in selected UK and Irish cinemas from 5th May.
